AVIF to JPG

Turn AVIF pictures into JPG files, individually or in a ZIP.

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Up to 20 still AVIF files · 25 MB each · 100 MB total · 25 MP per image.

92%

92% is a starting point. Higher quality can make larger files; JPG may be larger than AVIF.

Transparency becomes white. No animation, source metadata or HDR-fidelity guarantee.

A downloaded AVIF picture may not open in an older editor, document workflow or upload form. Convert it to a genuine JPG here rather than just changing the filename. Choose one image or a batch, adjust JPEG quality and download each result or a ZIP. Processing runs on your device and originals remain unchanged. This tool handles still images, not animations. JPG cannot retain transparency: transparent areas become white. Keep the source when you need its original colour information or transparency.

How to use

  1. Select up to 20 still AVIF files.
  2. Choose JPEG quality; 92% is the starting setting.
  3. Press Convert to JPG and check each preview or error.
  4. Download individual JPG files or save the completed files as a ZIP.

What it handles

  • Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch and 25 megapixels per image.
  • Sequential worker processing with cancellation; completed results remain available.
  • Original pixel dimensions are retained; images above the pixel limit are rejected.
  • Transparent areas are composited on white; animation is rejected.
  • JPG output drops source metadata; HDR and exact colour fidelity are not promised.
  • Duplicate output names receive suffixes; the ZIP stores files without extra compression.

FAQ

Does renaming .avif to .jpg work?

No. A filename ending does not change the encoded picture. This tool checks the AVIF container, decodes its pixels and encodes a new JPEG. If the browser cannot decode a particular file, it reports an error instead of offering a renamed original as a successful conversion.

Will the JPG look exactly like the AVIF?

JPEG encoding is lossy, even at the highest setting. Quality 92% is a starting point, not a measured guarantee for every picture. Transparent areas become white. Browser colour conversion can affect HDR or wide-gamut images, and source metadata is not preserved. Inspect the downloaded result and retain your original.

Can I convert several AVIF images at once?

Yes, choose up to 20 files within the stated size limits. They are processed one at a time to limit peak memory use. Each completed image has its own download button; the ZIP contains only successful results. Cancel stops remaining work without deleting completed files. Clear removes the entire current result.

Are files uploaded, and which browsers work?

Picture data is not sent to a conversion server or stored by this tool. It uses the browser’s AVIF decoder, createImageBitmap and OffscreenCanvas. Availability depends on browser version and the particular AVIF features. If decoding fails, try a current browser or another source image; success on every device is not guaranteed.
