What it handles
- Reads hex, rgb() and the ten color names, so #0f0, rgb(0 255 0) and green all give the same screen.
- Brightness scales the color instead of fading it: half of white is #808080, and black stays black at every level.
- The clock switches between black and white digits by contrast, so it stays readable on yellow as well as on navy.
- Keys 1 to 0 pick a preset and + and - change the brightness, in full screen too.
- The color, the brightness and the clock are in the address bar, so a copied link opens the same screen.
- Keeps the display awake where the browser allows it; the toggle turns itself off when it does not.
FAQ
Does full screen work on a phone?
On Android and on iPad, yes. Safari on iPhone does not give a web page the full-screen API, so the button covers the browser window instead of the whole display and the address bar can stay visible. Hiding the controls and turning the phone sideways gets you the rest of the way.
Does the brightness slider change my display brightness?
No. It changes the color the page paints, not the backlight. A darker color emits less light, so the screen looks dimmer, but your system brightness stays exactly where you left it. Use the device controls if you want to change the backlight itself, for example to save battery.
Can I use this as a green screen for video?
For a small subject, yes. The green preset is pure #00ff00; the green used in television is nearer #00b140, which you can type into the color field. A screen is a light source, so it also lights the subject from behind and reflects on glasses; a matte cloth still gives cleaner edges.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded nothing else is fetched, so you can switch the connection off and keep using the presets, the picker, the brightness and the clock. Your last settings are kept in this browser on this device, and opening the page again restores them.
Can a solid color damage my screen?
On an OLED panel, a bright color left in place for hours can cause temporary image retention, and repeating that often can make it permanent. LCD panels are not affected in the same way. Lower the brightness for long sessions and avoid leaving one bright color on an OLED phone overnight.
Can I share the exact color I set?
Yes. The address bar keeps the color, the brightness and the clock, so copying the link and opening it on another device gives the same screen. The link carries those three settings and nothing else: there is no account, and no part of it reaches a server.
