Ten minutes is a tidy-up, a warm-up, a rehearsal run of a talk, a rest between sets or the block of study people use to get started on a hard task. The page opens at 10:00 and needs one press. The countdown is large enough to read from across a room in fullscreen, and the tab title keeps it visible when you are working somewhere else. The alarm sound, the volume and whether it repeats are yours to set, and the page remembers them on this device.

How to use

  1. Press Start for ten minutes.
  2. Press Go fullscreen so the whole room can see the countdown.
  3. Press Reset when the round is over, then Start again for the next one.

What it handles

  • Fullscreen scales the numbers to the screen, which is why this page suits a class or a gym.
  • The cursor disappears after two seconds of stillness in fullscreen, so nothing sits over the numbers.
  • Ten minutes in a background tab does not shift the ending, because the countdown is tied to the clock.

FAQ

Can everyone in the room see it?

In fullscreen the countdown fills the screen and the numbers grow with it, so it reads from the back of a small hall on a projector or a television. The controls slide out of the way while the mouse is still and come back as soon as you move it. Press Esc to leave fullscreen.

Does the screen stay on for ten minutes?

The page asks the browser for a wake lock as soon as the timer starts, and most current browsers grant it, so the screen should not dim while the countdown runs. Older browsers ignore the request. If a laptop is set to sleep on its own schedule, that setting wins over anything a web page can ask for.

What happens if I close the tab?

The timer stops with it. There is no background service and no notification, because the page has no server behind it and asks for no permissions. If you need a countdown that survives a closed tab, use the clock built into your phone or your operating system. Reopening this page starts a fresh ten minutes.
