FAQ
How do I resize without stretching the picture?
Leave the aspect ratio locked. If you enter only a width, the height follows the original proportions. If you enter both dimensions, the image fits inside that rectangle without cropping or padding. The result may therefore be smaller than one of the two values. Unlock the ratio to force both dimensions.
Will a social preset produce an exact canvas size?
The presets supply fixed, commonly used dimensions as a starting point, rather than checking a platform's current upload rules. With the ratio locked, a landscape photo fitted into the square preset remains landscape. There is no cropping or added border. For an exact rectangle, unlock the ratio and accept possible distortion.
Does resizing reduce quality or remove metadata?
Making an image smaller discards pixels; enlarging it cannot recreate missing detail. PNG output uses lossless encoding, while JPEG and WebP use a fixed quality setting of 90%. The browser creates a new image, so original EXIF metadata is not copied. Phone-photo orientation is applied to the pixels before resizing.
Where are my files processed, and what are the limits?
Files stay in memory on your device and are never saved to local storage. A worker processes them using OffscreenCanvas; an unsupported browser shows an error. Sources and outputs must fit within 25 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side. Clear releases the results. Download them before clearing or leaving the page.
