kB, MB, GB and TB are decimal (1 kB = 1000 B), as on drive labels and mobile plans. KiB, MiB, GiB and TiB are binary (1 KiB = 1024 B), as Windows shows file sizes. Bits are for connection speeds; 8 bits make a byte.
A month is the average Gregorian month of 30.436875 days and a year is 365.2425 days; calendar months and years vary.
US units follow the US customary system (1 gal = 3.785 L, 1 cup = 236.6 mL); UK units follow the imperial system (1 gal = 4.546 L).

Time conversions are about work and travel more than physics: 90 minutes of a meeting as a fraction of an hour on a timesheet, a 14-hour flight in days, a contract of 26 weeks in months, a timeout of 1500 milliseconds in seconds, a 3-year warranty in days. Type the value, pick the units and the result appears as you type, with the same duration in all ten units in the table, so 90 min shows as 1.5 h, 0.0625 d and 5400 s together. Seconds to weeks are exact; a month is the average Gregorian month of 30.436875 days and a year 365.2425 days, as the note under the table says.
How to use
- Type the duration, for example 90.
- Pick the unit you have and the unit you want; minutes to hours is preset.
- Swap them to convert the other way.
- Read days, weeks or milliseconds in the table.
What it handles
- Ten units: nanosecond, microsecond, millisecond, second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year.
- Exact factors up to the week: 1 min = 60 s, 1 h = 3600 s, 1 d = 86 400 s, 1 wk = 604 800 s.
- Month and year are calendar averages, 30.436875 and 365.2425 days, and the page says so under the table.
- Gives decimal hours; the FAQ explains how to turn 1.75 h into 1 h 45 min.
FAQ
How do I convert minutes to hours and minutes?
Divide by 60 for decimal hours, then turn the fraction back into minutes: 105 min is 1.75 h, and 0.75 × 60 is 45, so 105 min is 1 h 45 min. Timesheets and payroll usually want the decimal form (1.75), calendars the hours-and-minutes form; the converter gives the decimal, and the multiplication by 60 gives the rest.
How long is a month in this converter?
30.436875 days, the average length of a month in the Gregorian calendar (365.2425 days divided by 12). Real months are 28 to 31 days, so 3 months is shown as 91.31 days, while March to May is 92 days. For a rent period or a deadline, count the actual calendar days; use the average for statistics and rough planning.
How many seconds are in a day, a week and a year?
A day has 86 400 seconds (24 × 60 × 60), a week 604 800, and an average year 31 556 952, which is 365.2425 days. A common year has 31 536 000 seconds and a leap year 31 622 400. The table shows all of them at once if you type 1 and choose the year as the unit you have.
Does it handle milliseconds and smaller?
Yes: milliseconds, microseconds and nanoseconds are included for timeouts, benchmarks and sensor data. 1500 ms is 1.5 s, 250 000 µs is 0.25 s, and 1 s is 1 000 000 000 ns. Very small results switch to scientific notation, so 1 ns in years is 3.169e-17, which spreadsheets read as a number.
