WebP to PNG
Turn WebP pictures into PNG files with transparent areas intact.
Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
WebP input · 30 files · 50 MB each · 200 MB total · 25 MP and 16,384 px per side.
JPEG: white background. PNG/WebP: transparency. Animation becomes a still frame; source metadata is not copied.
90% is the starting value. Higher quality can make a larger file; it cannot restore lost detail.
PNG uses lossless encoding. No quality slider is needed; the result may be larger than WebP.

Need a PNG for an editor that will not open your WebP picture? Add the WebP files here and create actual PNG image data instead of changing the filename extension. PNG is selected when you arrive, and transparent areas stay transparent. The decoded width and height are preserved without automatic resizing. Check each preview, then save individual pictures or a ZIP of completed results. Everything is processed on your device; keep the originals if their animation, metadata or original color profile matters to you.
How to use
- Add up to 30 WebP files, with 50 MB per file and 200 MB total input.
- Keep PNG selected. PNG has no lossy-quality slider.
- Select Convert images; cancel if needed without losing completed files.
- Review the previews and save individual PNG files or the completed-images ZIP.
What it handles
- Creates PNG data, not a WebP file with a renamed extension.
- Preserves decoded dimensions and transparent pixels; PNG encoding is lossless.
- Processes files sequentially; damaged images have their own error messages.
- Cancel keeps finished images; Clear or changed settings discard previous results.
- ZIP contains completed files with distinct names, up to 150 MB total output.
- Animation becomes a still image; source metadata and exact HDR color fidelity are not preserved.
FAQ
Does WebP to PNG keep a transparent background?
Yes, transparent pixels in the decoded WebP remain transparent in PNG. Check the preview in your destination editor as well: an editor can display transparent areas on white or a checkerboard without changing the image itself. This conversion does not remove a background that is already part of the source pixels.
Why is the PNG larger than the original WebP?
PNG and WebP encode images differently. Lossless PNG can need more bytes, especially for photographic material, and this tool does not promise a smaller file. It keeps the decoded pixel dimensions rather than reducing them to meet a size target. Keep WebP if your destination accepts it and smaller size matters more.
Can I download a batch and stop midway?
You can add 30 files, each up to 50 MB, within 200 MB combined input and 25 megapixels per image. Cancel leaves completed PNGs available, including in the ZIP; unfinished files are not included. Results are capped at 150 MB total. Clear or changing a setting removes old results, so download first.
